Day 27: Demo on Mediafire

Welp, done with the demo!

So much that needs to be changed/edited/etc., but god, I have taxes to do.  And rooms to clean.

I feel a small sense of relief.  I wonder if anybody is going to play this thing.  What's funny is that I finally made a little game, but all the gamers I know personally aren't going to want to play it.

IRONY TIME.

Link to the demo.

  1. Wonder no more -- I played it.

Grrrr... Blogspot ate the first draft of this.

This is a great first visual novel.

The sprites are well done. I liked the fact that if you were biside the person, such as when you are in a car, the person appears as a side image rather than being in frame.

The writing was ok. It felt like there was one story and all choices led to it. I would have liked it better if their were different responses to the different things I said. Even if it was just a line or two of dialogue.

For example: when the MC makes his announcement, his friends react the same no matter how he says it. I also think there should be another beat between his annoucement and him complaining that they aren't answering.

The characters are well done. I like all of them and they all have a different "voice".

It definitely feels like the start to a bigger story and I look forward to reading more.

  2. Aw, sorry about the comments here, Susan!!! I'm trying to figure out what the heck is happening. GRRR.

But thanks soooo much for your critique! Yep, I kinda "cheated" on the choices. Running out of time I sort of offered choices that didn't do much, but I'm glad to know that makes a difference to you, as a player. I agree with you 100%...and I'm going to make the necessary changes to the demo and the remainder of the game (or give it my best shot!).

Thank you for playing and your feedback! I see you have made a cat-centric game...will be checking it out tonight!
